The First Occupational Center of New Jersey, the state's oldest and largest not-for-profit vocational and educational training center, is seeking a Placement Specialist. This position is designed to assist in the development and maintenance of a marketing plan for placement. Ensure that Employer contacts are documented and follow-up takes place on a scheduled basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
•Develop Marketing Plan in conjunction with Manager
•Conduct labor market surveys geographically and industry wide
•Provide a vigorous on-going contact with Employers and selectively utilize a job screening method for matching needs and abilities
•Provide employee education regarding job requirements, developmental needs and employee incentives
•Schedule and assist clients with pre-employment needs including job interviews and applications and transportation, etc.
•Attend local Chamber of Commerce, Business Organizations, and funding sources meetings
•Assist in the maintenance of a Business Advisory Counsel with representation from DOL
•Establish and maintain a routine that ensures available jobs, travel training, coaching of clients, and post – employment support follow-up/support
•Ensure that policies and procedures are met and documented
Educational/Experiences:
Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation, Counseling, Education, or a related field, with at least two years experience providing vocational training to the mentally disabled or socioeconomic disadvantaged or two years of college with five years experience. Sales experience a plus.
Certificates/Licenses/Special Training:
Valid Driver's License.
